children, affecting 20% of them. In myopia, the child does not see it far and its school performance may be affected. But that&#8217;s not all. As the degrees of myopia increase, the chances of developing some associated diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts and maculopathy increase.<\/p><p>Research shows that by 2050 50% of the population will have myopia.
