aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1751\"><ul><li><p>He was born in Athens and graduated from the Medical School of the University of Patras.<br \/>As a medical student, he was selected to enrich his clinical experience through training at the University of Cambridge Medical School in the United Kingdom, and he began his research activity at the Lund University Medical School in Sweden.<br \/>Upon graduating from medical school, he obtained the <strong>ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support)<\/strong> diploma from the <strong>American College of Surgeons<\/strong>.<\/p><p>He completed the first part of his ophthalmology residency at the <strong>Ophthalmology Department of the University Hospital of Ioannina<\/strong> and continued the second part of his specialization in <strong>the United Kingdom<\/strong>.<\/p><p>He further pursued subspecialty training as a <strong>Clinical Fellow<\/strong> at the <strong>Ophthalmology Department of Maidstone Hospital<\/strong> in the UK, under the auspices of the <strong>Royal College of Ophthalmologists<\/strong>.<\/p><p>He subsequently completed <strong>three Fellowship programs<\/strong> in the subspecialty of <strong>Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery (Oculoplastics)<\/strong>.<br \/>His main Fellowship was at <strong>Moorfields Eye Hospital<\/strong>, where he applied advanced surgical techniques for the management of <strong>Eyelid, Lacrimal System, and Orbital Disorders<\/strong>.<\/p><p>He continued with a <strong>Fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery<\/strong> at the <strong>Corneo-Plastic Unit of Queen Victoria Hospital<\/strong>, United Kingdom.<br \/>He then extended his postgraduate training in the <strong>United States<\/strong>, at the <strong>Mayo Clinic<\/strong> and <strong>UCLA<\/strong>, followed by professional practice in private Oculoplastic Centers in <strong>Beverly Hills<\/strong> and <strong>Palm Springs, Los Angeles, USA<\/strong>.<\/p><p>His work on <strong>Eyelid, Lacrimal System, and Orbital diseases<\/strong> combines both <strong>reconstructive and aesthetic surgery<\/strong> in a balanced and comprehensive manner.<\/p><p>He returned to Greece in <strong>2007<\/strong>, introducing <strong>pioneering endoscopic and minimally invasive techniques<\/strong>, and assumed the position of <strong>Head of the Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department<\/strong> in several medical centers.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1752\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" Dissertation<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1752\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1752\"><p>He completed his <strong>doctoral thesis<\/strong> on <strong>posterior capsular opacification<\/strong>.<br \/>Specifically, after performing a large series of <strong>phacoemulsification<\/strong> procedures \u2014 the most advanced method of cataract extraction \u2014 on rabbits, he followed up the operated animals and subsequently performed <strong>enucleations<\/strong>, applying modern <strong>orbital surgical techniques<\/strong>.<\/p><p>He then studied the development of <strong>secondary cataract<\/strong> in relation to different types of <strong>intraocular lenses (IOLs)<\/strong> in an experimental rabbit model, both <strong>histopathologically and microscopically<\/strong>.<\/p><p>This extensive <strong>clinical, laboratory, and surgical research project<\/strong> was entirely organized and completed by him and contributed significantly to the <strong>improvement of intraocular lens design<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Based on this research program, he was awarded the title of <strong>Doctor of Medicine (PhD)<\/strong> by the <strong>Medical School of the University of Ioannina<\/strong> in <strong>2010<\/strong>.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1753\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\"
