Eyelash Treatment

Many women want longer eyelashes for aesthetic reasons. Blepharitis, age, menopause and chemotherapy can cause eyelash loss.
Dr. Nikolaos Trakos uses the discoveries of science and applies treatments based on factors that influence the eyelash regeneration cycle and human growth factors.

Treatment authorized by the American Organization for Medicines (FDA) for eyelash growth, since 2008, is recommended with impressive results and is called Latisse.

What is Latisse®?

Hypotrichosis is a medical term that refers to cases where there are not enough or sufficient eyelashes.

How does Latisse® work?

Although the exact mode of action is not well known, it is believed that Latisse® affects the growth phase of the eyelash life cycle in two ways: 1) increases the duration of this phase and 2) increases the number of eyelashes that are in this phase.

An essential element of any surgical procedure, especially cosmetic surgery, is providing the patient with sufficient time for information.

How does Latisse® apply?

Latisse® is applied once a day, every night, on the base of the eyelashes of the upper eyelid. Do not apply it inside the eye or lower eyelid as it may cause increased hair growth outside the applied area.

How soon will I see a result?

Latisse® users may see the first results after 8 weeks with the final result in 12 to 16 weeks. Growth is gradual, during the night and over time.

Replaces Latisse® with the use of mascara;

No, Latisse® does not act as a substitute for mascara. Latisse® is a therapeutic solution for cases of few or insufficient eyelashes. However, mascara can be used with Latisse®

Why choose Dr. Trakos?

Dr. Trakos’ contribution to the field of anterior segment and cataract surgery, as well as to the treatment of vision problems, has changed the lives of many people by improving their sight and quality of life.

What if I forget to wear one or more evenings?

If you forget one or a few apps, don’t try to replace the times you missed. Just apply Latisse® the next night and continue the program as normal.

What happens if I stop using Latisse®?

If you stop using Latisse®, your eyelashes are expected to return to their original state within a few weeks or months.

What should I do if I wear contact lenses?

Contact lenses must be removed prior to application of Latisse® and may be reworn 15 minutes after application.

What should I do if Latisse® gets into the eye?

Latisse® is an ophthalmological medicinal product. If it gets into the eye it is not expected to cause harm. The eye does not need to be washed to rinse off the drop circulated on the surface of the eye.

LATISSE™ is easy to use. It has been accepted by the U.S. drug agency FDA.
It is applied on the base of the lashes with a special type brush.
The study by the FDA showed that eyelashes become 25% longer, 106% thicker, and 18% darker.
