Hyperopia

Hyperopia and other refractive abnormalities such as myopia, astigmatism and presbyopia are corrected with glasses, contact lenses or laser.

Hyperopia is a refractive disorder. It is because the eye is smaller or the cornea is flatter, so the rays are focused behind the retina.
Usually in hyperopia the patient can see clearly away, but he can not see well near.
But others, especially young people with hyperopia can see clearly and far and near. After 30-35 may have headaches or transient blurring of vision, when the eye muscle that helps us focus gets tired. Other patients with hyperopia cannot see clearly, not far, not near.
If a parent has hyperopia, there is an increased likelihood that his child has hyperopia. But it may be that the child has hyperopia, even if the parent does not have hyperopia. There are probably several factors that can lead to hyperopia, and the gene factor is only one of them.
Most children have hyperopia, but they do not experience blurred vision. If they have mild hyperopia, most children see clearly far and near. As they grow older, the eye grows, too, and its axial length too, and mild hyperopia diminishes or dissipates.

What are the symptoms of hyperopia?

Hyperopia may be manifested by blurred vision especially in tasks involving close vision such as reading. It can also be manifested by headache, dizziness and diplopia.

An essential element of any surgical procedure, especially cosmetic surgery, is providing the patient with sufficient time for information.

How are the symptoms of hyperopia corrected?

The correction of hyperopia is considered an aesthetic intervention by insurance companies, although many of the problems are functional. Aesthetic Ophthalmology is the field of Ophthalmology that concerns the aesthetics of the eyes and the periocular area.

Thus, the Laser corrects hyperopia and the symptoms that result from it, such as blurred vision. Aesthetic aspects are the signs such as the change of shape of the eyes, since hyperopic glasses warp the eyes making them larger.
So, if an eye has 2 degrees hyperopia and the other eye 5 degrees, and the patient wears glasses, the lens of glasses that corrects the eye with 5 degrees will make it look larger than the other eye, resulting in asymmetry and aesthetic problem.
Even myopia may show wrinkles, which are overmagnified by the magnifying effect of lenses that have hyperopic glasses.
Both wrinkles and the distorted shape of the eyes are aesthetic problems.
Laser for the correction of myopia is the solution to avoid these problems.
